"Religion is based on faith. Even opposing religions are based on faith. If faith leads to false beliefs, what value is there in faith"~ Anonymous.
I was born and raised as a Seventh Day Adventist. That's a branch of Christianity that worships on Saturday. A while back, I stopped going to church. Not necessarily because I didn't believe in God anymore, but because I wasn't sure I believed in that particular religion. I mean...think about it. Every religion has their own God, maybe even the same God, or Gods. Buddha is like the Buddhists' Jesus Christ. Hindu's worship several Gods, including Vishnu, ancient Greeks believed in such people as Ares, Hera, Aprhodite or Zeus. The Romans believed in Jupiter, the Mayans had Quezacotl, the Egyptians had Ra, Osiris, Anubis....the list goes on and on.
Each religion has similar beliefs. And each religion also has great differences. The question I had was...which one is right? Maybe none of them, maybe the atheists/agnostics are right, and there is no god. Maybe the Hindus are right, and there's multiple armed gods, and we'll be ressurrected when we die. Or the Egyptians' are right, and our gods have animal faces.
I left the church to...well, I dunno, I felt I needed to get away. Not because of the people...the people there were some of the nicest, and most interesting people I've ever met. But maybe I thought I'd do a little more research, and yet...I still have not done so. Each religion has so many points that could be proven historically, possibly, and other stories that are just plain outlandish. Maybe, just maybe, the real religion is one huge combo of them all, and nobody has followed it yet! All I know is that it's confusing as all hell.
