Ursus is a very special bear. Numerous emeralds and other gems
were crafted together by a mage as a favor for Tyro Vultheim. He then used this large block to create a life-size statue of
a bear, to present to Elleron Galanodel. The entire body, legs and head are made out of emerald. The eyes and tongue are rubies,
the teeth and claws diamond, and the pads on the bottom of it's feet are sapphire.
As a final touch, the bear was animated by Eldrick Malpourian,
and given a partial telepathic link. Ursus can "speak" telepathically only with Elleron, and can find her almost anywhere
the magess is. She can also communicate with both Tyro and Eldrick. Other then this, she can only audibly make the sounds
a normal bear would. She also maintains a human-like intelligence, though some things do need explaining.
Her temperament is gentle for the most part, but once Elleron is
threatened, and the call is received for help, the assailant will find 3000+ pounds of untiring, unfeeling cut gem pouncing
and restraining him/her.
