Dreyden Shalz was born in Kalaman. As a boy, he was a hard worker,
helping his lumberjack father cut and collect firewood, load wood on caravans, build houses and other structures. In their
free time, his father taught him some minor sword play maneuvers. His mother stayed at home and often fixed the two lunches
to take out with them on the "job".
When Dreyden was twelve, he stumbled across some papers in the
room his father used occasionally for "thinking time". They were long over-due debts and payments to names Dreyden recognized
from notices the authorities had posted up. He was scared, but he dared not say anything to either of his parents about it,
because punishment for sneaking into Daddy's room was a swift beating.
Then one day Dreyden came back from adventuring out in the woods,
only to find his mother crying hysterically. He came into the clearing by his small home only to see his mother
cradling the body of his father. He had been stabbed to death by the criminals he had had dealings with.
Time went on, and Dreyden grew older. Dreyden became a lumberjack,
like his father, and supported both him and his mother. His mother never re-married, and died of a broken heart when Dreyden
was 20. A year after the funeral service, he met a beautiful young woman named Leila. They dated actively for a year, and
then got married.
They lived happily for three years until Dreyden came home one
day to find his home had been broken into, and his wife had been raped and killed. Memories of his father's death washed over
him coldly, painfully, and Dreyden was sick of it all. He wears a black hat, think Zorro's, that tilts downwards, shadowing
his face. He wears dark brown shirt and pants, with a black cloak flowing over his back and left side. Also on his left side
is where his sword is sheathed. He has a hunting dagger in each boot, and is quite able to use them.
Dreyden resolved to solve crime his own way, and keeps his eyes
out for thugs, assassins, and, er, bad guys. He'll engage them if he believes they're attempting some sort of foul play. He
traveled long distances, kicking the butts of several evil-doers, sometimes even going so far as to act as Judge, Jury, and
Executioner. Eventually, he made it to the area around Kips. Don't ask me how. You might as well ask me to explain why the
universe exists, 'cuz I don't know.
He wanders the area for a bit, alone, bitter, and regretful.
