Jaykob and Jaycen Maijstral are two mischievous brothers coming from Southern Ergoth. Their mother died giving birth to the younger of the two, Jaycen, and their father became a drunkard. Finding quickly enough that life was easier out on the streets, the brothers would often venture out among thieves and killers to avoid their fathers beatings. As the two got older, they started to have fun with what they called their little game. Jaykob specialized in pick pocketing, while Jaycen went for unlocking doors and windows. Together, they helped each other conveniently borrow peoples possessions, and laughed at their reactions. Their personal belief is that the best place to hide is in plain sight, and their goofy antics often demonstrate this.

Once the two reached their late teens, they picked up on stories of the emerald-eyed beauty, Elle, the Princess of Thieves. Wanting to meet her for themselves, and now in their early twenties, they hopped a boat to Solamnia and eventually found their way to the area around Kips. They were disappointed to find she was married with kids, but hope to one day meet her and impress her with their abilities. Jaykob, being the testosterone driven fool that he is, was not sad for long, and has recently taken a notice to the young Zerce Lira. After a considerable time dating, Jaykob proposed to Zerce, whom accepted with eyes misted with happiness. They were married April 14, 2003.
